Privacy, explained simply.
Meadow & Tide uses only the information needed to make, sell and deliver your jewellery, provide your account and keep the shop secure.
What we collect
We may collect your name, email address, delivery address, account details, saved designs, basket contents, order details, transactional-email delivery records, verified-purchase reviews, optional review photographs and messages you send us. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes rather than readable passwords.
Reviews and customer photographs
A review is available only through an account connected to a completed purchase. You choose the public display name and whether to add a photograph. Faces and identifying details are not required. The website prepares review photographs without embedded location metadata, and every submission is privately moderated before publication. Approved review text, rating, display name and optional photograph are visible publicly until you delete the review or ask us to remove it.
Payments
Card details are entered on Stripe’s hosted checkout page and are handled by Stripe and the relevant banking or payment networks. Meadow & Tide does not receive or store your complete card number or security code. We receive payment status and transaction references so we can fulfil, refund and support an order.
Why we use information
We use customer information to provide requested products and accounts, fulfil our contract with you, answer questions, maintain business and tax records, prevent fraud and protect the website. We will ask before using information for optional marketing.
Who receives it
Information is shared only where needed with service providers such as Stripe, website hosting, email and delivery providers, professional advisers, or public authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell customer information.
Cookies and browser storage
The shop uses an essential secure login cookie and a basket identifier so accounts and baskets work correctly. These are not advertising cookies. Font files are currently supplied by Google Fonts, which may receive basic connection information such as an IP address.
How long we keep it
Account, saved-design and review information is kept while your account is active or until you delete it or ask us to do so. Unfinished review-photo uploads are removed automatically. Order, payment and related delivery records may be retained for up to seven years where required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention or legal claims. Security activity and email-delivery records not connected to an order are normally retained for up to 365 days. Backup copies expire through our backup schedule.
Your choices and rights
You may ask for access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information, or object to certain uses. Some order information may need to be retained for legal or accounting reasons. Contact us and we will explain what applies.
Keeping information secure
We use access controls, administrator two-step verification, encrypted connections, protected password storage, private hosting storage, audit records and tested database backups. No internet service can remove every risk, so these safeguards are reviewed as the shop develops.
